Carpe Diem

Happy New Year!!! It’s a couple days late but better late than never.

What is your New Year’s resolution? Mine is to try to be more spontaneous and live in the moment more instead of focusing so much on the future. I’m such a planner and always need structure and to be organized. If you ever need someone to organize your house or straighten things up, give me a call.

The other day I was looking at Facebook and my friend had posted this comic about New Year’s resolutions that I thought seemed pretty accurate. Honestly, I think New Year’s resolutions are kind of crazy, not that they are pointless but I feel like sometimes we focus so much on making resolutions only at a New Year that we lose sight of the fact that we should have a resolution and improve who we are everyday. Each day we have an opportunity to try something new, reinvent ourselves or make a positive change in our lives or someone else’s.

So maybe by now you’ve already failed at your New Year’s resolution. Well try it again and while you’re at it make a new resolution for every day this year whether it is going to the gym twice a week, forcing yourself to smile when you’ve had a bad day or every morning thanking God that you woke up today.

New Year’s Day might only come once a year but a new day occurs every 24 hours. Seize the day!
